Welcome

My work as an artist ties together technical stylistic decisions and my own personal beliefs. I have been focusing my efforts on creating a style that pulls influence from the expressionist style of painting, and involves using large, visible brushstrokes to create form. Bold non-local  usage in addition to this allows for my work to read as active and emotional interpretations from my own view. Some themes that have emerged in my work include femininity, sexuality, and identity. My work has acted as a way to capture emotion and movement through my technique and color usage. My current body of work addresses societal expectations and how they are tied to identity. Through exploring emotional responses to how items are grouped to create a still life that addresses these themes,  my goal is to make the viewer question the pressure put on women in our modern world.
